Host Block Notifier
If you are using hosts file to block bad hosts (malware, advertisements, etc.), you are directing the system to point to the local machine. The web browser will just show a message to tell you that it couldn't connect to the server or the page cannot be displayed. Host Block Notifier is a little tool that acts like a local web server. Your browser will inform you whenever you access a blocked website. You will need to leave this program running in the background. You can customize what to display in your browser when a host is blocked by editing the HTML and text in the box. You can also chose to show the link to bypass the Hosts file using proxy (concealme.com) to access the blocked website. Screenshot of Blocked Host in IE 7:
Currently it is released for experimental purpose only. It may be used with Hosts File Updater or Malware Immunizer. If you do not use the Hosts file for blocking bad hosts, you will not need this program. Please give comments and suggestions or report bugs.
